In their 2017 article, Network Analysis of Mineralogical Systems, Morrison, Hazen, et al. Introduce and explore application of mineral network analysis
in order to provide a dynamic, quantitative, and predictive visualization framework for employing big data to explore complex and otherwise hidden higher-dimensional patterns of diversity and distribution in mineral systems.
The goal of this study was to use network analysis to find new patterns in the mineralogical systems of Virginia. Network analysis is another way to analyze a large amount of data. The networks can be quantitatively analyzed using a cluster analysis code. Cluster analysis is another way to identify closely related minerals and localities.
